(#5)  TWO FRIENDS (COMPARE AND CONTRAST)

I have a lot of friends. Since I was small, I like to make friends wherever I go. And after I moved here in Tanjong Malim to make a diploma, I get friends to be with me. They are all different members. They have different personalities and characteristics. Some of them are funny, and some of them are quite serious and strict. I love to be with them as they can accept me as myself and they do not ask me to change my behavior or else. It is neither them nor me. Friends who have different character always argue due to very small problems or misunderstanding of jokes. But, I have two friends that really contrast to each other. They are my best friends, Aman and Ali.

They came from very different backgrounds. It is such one comes from hill and another one comes from the ocean. Aman, who is a son to a rich man, Datuk Zahid Hamidun, is really lucky, according to my sight. He is pleased and pleasured with money and comfort. He has his own car. He even gets his monthly pocket money as much as RM 1k. But still, he never feels too proud of his luxury life. He also shares his comfort with us. Meanwhile, Ali comes from an ordinary family, just like me. Not rich, and not the poor one. He just gets his monthly pocket money even less than mine. Hu just has a usual motorcycle that he uses to go to class every day. Therefore, he knows how to control his money from unimportant wasting things.

Next, they are totally different from personalities, their appearances and the way they dress. Aman, suitable with his background, he is absolutely looks like a rich man. Every time he goes out, he will use his expensive snickers that he will change every time he goes out. Fit to his body, he uses his long sleeve shirt with skinny pants. Unlike him, Ali just dresses as a usual guy. Always with t-shirts, and sometime even just with pagoda shirt, he is a very col man. He will not get ready for ours before going out with us. And I never see him wearing a long sleeve shirt even when we are going to the city.  Besides, he only has a pair of shoes that he usually uses if he wants to go out. His appearance is really stating that he is just a usual and normal guy like others.

Other than that, they also have differences in their attitude and behavior. Aman is likely to have a rough attitude. He uses rude words more than kind words. Scolding, bad temper is always the best way to define him. He rarely asks permission from us to use our stuffs. Moreover, he likes to hit us and makes things with us. On the other hand, Ali is someone who loves peace and always makes peace with everyone. He really respects our lecturer, and even to the cleaner that cleans the side walk. He is a very soft-spoken guy. He always smiles even though he has been bullied by us. Plus, he never uses high tone of voices or scolding us when he talks to us.

For the conclusion, they are just like a dog and a cat, fire and water and whatever things that are contrast. However, I still feel like those differences as differences make things complete. Those two friends are the one who are completing our group. We will have a big laugh when Aman bullies Ali. But, we will have a bigger laugh if Ali makes sarcasm on Aman’s behavior.
REFLECTION (WEEK 6)

Week 6, I got a little problem this week. This week, we had a holiday on Tuesday for Nuzul Al-Quran day and our class was on Monday. So I decided to take leave for the class as I did not attend the class.

Miss Amreet asked us to prepare an MC letter for excuse.
(#4)  Why Social Networks Become So Popular
(Causes and Effects)

Nowadays, people do not connect to each other and keep in contact by using mails anymore. Even e-mail is rarely used these days. So, what makes these things forgotten? Humans, as they become smarter and smarter every day, some geniuses in technology had invented some joyful and useful social networks to be used by the others. Social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp and many other more become popular day by day. People, regardless their positions, are using these social networks most of their time. The question is why social networks become so popular? This is because of a few reasons.

First, with social networks, we have the opportunity to know and to meet new people. Social networks give people the chance to meet new people and friends regardless their geographical positions, ages, racial status, and even culture and religions. Users can see others’ profile either pictures or other information. If the user is interested on other users, he or she can add them as friends. After been friends, we as the users can have an online conversation with any person that we want. It is private as nobody can see the messages except you and him or her. And if you want to have a group chat, you can do so in Facebook, or else you can make a group conversation in Whatsapp and WeChat. Thus, people, teenagers especially use this to gossip on someone after they have finished their phone credit or even they purposely do so.

Other reason is these social networks help users to make business. If a businessman or businesswoman gets 50% profit from their usual business by selling their product, they can get even three times more profit if they use social networks to promote their products. In Facebook, for example, users can create their own page to promote something or give whatever information about their business. People can look on and survey your products on your page. What makes things better is you can discuss with other business partner or people or ask people for advice to improve your performance in business. While in other social networks, you can promote your products by posting pictures and so on. And customers can send their requests by posting pictures and so on. And customers can send their request by contacting you using Whatsapp or on Twitter and others.

The Last reason is, social networks also provide us knowledge just the same as another search engine like Google. How? We can like or follow any pages or group or even personal character which has common interests with you. You can follow them whom provide some specific knowledge about something. In certain group or pages, the administrators will update statuses or tweet about things that you would like to know. You can like science pages, fiction pages, or even comedy and so on. If you notice that the contents are abusive or inappropriate, you can report it as spam and that social networks which is in responsible will take action to that page.

For the conclusion, these social networks had become very popular by few factors. They are all not bad factors, so users can use all type of social networks safely and freely and confidently. One day, I believe that more social networks will appear and made and also used by human kinds.
REFLECTION (WEEK 5)

This is the second week that we were asked to do presentation. This week was a little bit sharper and clearer as Miss Amreet had guided us in the previous week. This week, Miss Amreet had put the time limit to each presenter, which it was 10 minutes. So, the presenter will just present sharper, more discipline and clearer. The presenter would not waste our time and more presentation could be done.

This week was just like a mysterious presentation week. It may sound funny but that is it. Starting from Sharafuddin, he presented on the mysterious serious killer. Then, Halim also presented about another mysterious killer that until now, nobody knows what was the purposes and who was the killer. Apart from that, another mysterious presentation was given by DzulHaniff, talking about the Oak Island, an islang with mystery. But, those presentations were very cool and awesome as they stated that too many speculation and prediction and also investigation given and done just to solve the mystery.

From this week’s class, I have learnt a lot of thing. I have learnt to be punctual, as we moved on time from Miss Maria’s Translation’s class to attend this Writing for Multimedia and Web Purposes class. I also learnt to be clever as all the presentations this week taught me to investigate, do research to solve problems and mystery. I hope all all the presenters were given a very suitable mark for their efforts.
REFLECTION (WEEK 4)

We already made it until this week, week 4, as the time runs so fast. This week, our class is as usual, at E-Learning 12. But, some changes were made by Miss Amreet for us. As the Ramadhan had come, we had our class earlier and we would finish it earlier also. We had our class from 4 to 6 as we had Miss Maria’s class before that. We also finished earlier as Miss Amreet kindly gave us time to take bus back to hostel and to break fast for the Muslim students.

This week, we started our presentation by using Prezi presentation. Before, Miss Amreet had told us that we need to use Prezi to do presentation. We need to make it the best that we can do as it will be consumed as our marks. So, we needed to use all our skills in Prezi to do the best. This week, some of us presented first as it will not fit to present all.

Mimiwahida, for example, she presented on how to know a liar. She described it very detailed to us. After every presentation, we had a Q&A session which we can ask the presenter on his or her topic. Other than Mimiwahida, our friends such as Sue Chin and Jayson also presented very well. I hope I can use all the information presented well, and I also hope that I can present my topic in a proper way.

For me, I presented the Shiite and Sunni topic. I changed my topic at the very last minute as the Illuminati topic that I wanted to present earlier was very complicating. And, that topic was also involving some religious sentiment that I could not touch. At the end, I finished my presentation a little bit harsh as my video contained a little violence.
(#3)  The Memoir (Narrative Essay)

Aiman was so happy. His smile was wide smiling. As the school will reopen in three-day time, he was so busy selecting and choosing his new school uniforms and other needs. I also felt the happiness as I also got new shirts and other college needs. Suddenly, I saw father and mother smiled to us. Their smiles were really heart-cooling and made me felt so glad to have them. I smiled back, but later I realized that they were not my parents. It was impossible for dead people to come alive and smile to us. My eyes started to produce crystal-clear tears. It all happened when we were going back to our hometown to celebrate Eid two years ago. The incident took their lives.

Two weeks before the incident that I cannot forget, the changes has been seen. I noticed that they were really different. Mom cooked really delicious dishes for week, not as usual, she usually cooked just normal dishes. Then, she also made us a pair of Baju Melayu that she sewed on her own. She sewed until late night. She told us that she really hope we could wear them in the morning of Eid. Dad, he stopped yelling to us and beating us, not as usual. We really felt his love to us before the incident. I noticed all those changes, but I never knew that God had a better plan for them. God plans the best, and that what made me strong every time I wanted to cry.

Early in the morning, on the day my parents took a leave to go to hometown, my father woke us up to perform the Subuh prayer. He woke us up with his warm and lovely voice, just soft, not the hard voice anymore. After the car was ready, we started to begin our journey, using the North- South Highway. We were really happy in the car. Mom played hide and seek with Aiman. The car seats saw everything happened. Daddy told us his childhood story while I kept playing my PSP. Suddenly a lorry with ton of logs overtook our red Avanza, made my father hit the break-pedal out of the blue. In a blik of an eye, it all happened. A log felt from the lorry and hit our car from in front. We were all screaming.

When I opened my eyes, I saw everything around me in white. I thought I was dead but actually I was in the hospital. The doctor asked me to be patient and told me that I lost my right leg as it stuck in the crashed car. Aiman, just had a little injuries. I was so worry. I asked the doctor about my parents. The doctor was just silent, his reaction changed. I knew it. We lost our parents. The log smashed into the front mirror and hit our parents terribly. Due to serious injuries and too much blood lost, God invited them to meet Him there. I cried as too much until I fainted. We were just had the chance to see them before the funeral.

After five weeks staying with our grandmother, someone came and met our granny. That couple with my parents’ ages wanted to adopt us. Granny agreed as she wanted the best for us. She wanted someone to take care of us better than her. She saw a bright future for us if we stay with that couple. Then, we followed my grandmother’s wish. The couple whom we call as Papa and Mama, give us all our needs, until now as they do not have any own child. Aiman, he is just so small to understand all these matter. He just feels heaven-sent but me, I will always feel star-crossed. But, I hope everything that happened in this instant world will give good impact to him as all what I want is just to see him happy.
REFLECTION (WEEK 3)

This is the third week, as my class was getting more fun and exciting for me. This week, we had found the most suitable class or place to use for our lecture. Miss Amreet had made it for us to have our class in E- Learning 12. This lecture hall is very suitable as PCs were already there, just maybe some of it could not be used as it broken. But still, Miss Amreet had told us earlier to bring our own laptop just in case the PCs could not be used. So, we were already prepared to face that problem.

This week, Miss Amreet started the lecture on Blog. She asked us either we knew what the blog is, the purpose and others. Some of us were already have personal blog while the others were not. For me, I have my own blog that I put useful information for all. Just in my case, I do not use English fully in my blog. So, after this, I need to use fully English in my Blog.

Miss Amreet also lectured us the good and bad sides of the Blog, and also the differences between Blog and also Wordpress, the one that we need to pay if we want to use it. I hope with that information that she told us, I can be a better blogger in order to help myself and also to help people towards a better life.

(#2)  My Favourite Cartoon (Descriptive Essay)

A boy sit in front of the television and his eyes is really focuses on the screen without moving even an inch. He is watching a TV programme, which is cartoon. Drawings that can move happily and freely, talking like usual using humans’ voices and even can sing really like a singer. That is how I describe cartoon from my perception. A new kind of intertainment and story-telling that were improved from the drawing and scatches, also comic series, had been our favorite nowadays. For many people, regardless their ages, backgrounds and identity, cartoons have been famous among them and give a very big impact on their lives. I do also have my own favorite cartoon but it is more called as anime as it does come from the sunrise land, Japan. Anime that describes the journey of a young ninja from the Hidden Leaves of Konoha, Naruto, had becomes my favorite cartoon series. Due to factors, I like it the most from another cartoon or anime.

From hair down to the toes, with normal size of eyes, pointy noses and different styles and clothes, the way the characters are drawn is the first ‘why’ I do like this cartoon. All characters are drawn and painted neatly, keen and sharp. Wrinkles on faces also can be seen in this anime. Thus, all the sceneries, place setting where the plots happen are also made as real and awesome. From the root of the tree, leaves that fall until the moving clouds and the running water, it always gives the best shot and satisfaction to the readers and viewers. Besides, all the effects work very well. Voices are controlled for usual speaking, shouting, crying and even fighting scenes. Thus it never makes my eardrums break. The songs also always that harmony at the time, suspense and surprise songs really give me what I do want from carton series, increasing my adrenaline. As I still remember, I love the fighting scene as all the power effects were really nice and put me in the battle field.
Moving on from the graphic, the next factor is the character itself. Each character has their roles to make the storyline succeeded. No side character. Even the noodle seller has his own background to be told. Starting from the protagonist, Naruto, an orphan that had been thrown away from the society, to the antagonists, Uchiha Madara, who rises again to take revenge and kill his enemies. Every character has own connectivity but sometimes this thing will make the story quite boring as there will be too much flashbacks. Next, the producer puts many values in each episode and scene. The one is bad is also has the good side and vice versa. This anime teaches me to be loyal, trustworthy, and many more. That is why this anime is also can be watched by the adults and elders.

Last but not least, is about the storyline. It always satisfies me as a viewer and a fan to it. It is very complete and yet very complicated. I do not have any idea how the writer, Masashi Kishimoto had a very good and awesome idea to write a good storyline like this one. The storyline is also consists all characters’ stories. And, there will always be the suspense at the end of each episode, making us to be more excited to watch the next series, to know the ending of the scene from the last one. Besides, the storyline is just so smooth, telling people about the epic monsters, the nine tails fox, that is put into a baby’s body to be concealed, Masashi again makes the storyline touches the readers heart with presence of the sad feeling, angry and so on. For example, a scene that shows the tailed beast, Kurama which is actually really fierce suddenly became so soft- hearted to Naruto as it was really understand it’s master’s feeling and pain that he had gone through.

With all those reasons, I am really sure that this anime or cartoon should and can be the best anime ever. And I even think that it can receive many awards including Oscar, maybe. I will not be bored even though I have watched the same episode for several times. I also feel so anxious and exited to watch the upcoming episode, ad also the epic ending of this anime. Just like what I have told before, I think this anime should be watched by everyone, even just one time, they will love it themselves and start to like it.
REFLECTION (WEEK 2)

This is the second week. Miss Amreet had changed the location for our class. Before, we had our class in DK, but on a few reasons such as no computer and plug available, and also no internet, we had to move to lecture room in Tadahan Selatan.

This week, Miss Amreet explained to us a little bit more specific on our assignments. Miss Amreet also gave lecture on the Prezi presentation. But, unfortunately, the projector in that room could not be used. So, Miss Amreet just brief us by using the white board.

Next, we also found our topic and some information on our presentation for the upcoming weeks. We showed our draft to Miss Amreet and asked for her approval. For me, I was confused either I wanted to bring the Illuminati topic or the animal topic. But, with my friends’ support, I chose to bring the Illuminati topic.
(#1) Life without Television

When my family’s only television set went to the repair shop the other day, my parents, my sister and I thought we would have a terrible week. How could we get through the long evenings in such a quite house? What would it be like without all the shows to keep us company? We soon realized though that living without television for a while was a stroke of good fortune. It became easy for each of us to enjoy some activities alone, to complete some postponed chores, and to spend rewarding time with each other and friends.

First of all, with no television to complete our time, we found plenty of hours for personal interests. We all read more that week than we had read during the six months before. All the books that we have in our mini library are touched and read. Sixty percent of them we had perfectly finished. The holy Koran that we were not often read also been read by all of us. My brother and I finished reading it three times in a week. We each also enjoyed some hobbies we had ignored for ages. We took all our favorite equipment such as the fishing equipment, archery equipment, and others back out and enjoyed doing them again.

Second, we did chores that had been hanging over our heads for too long. There were many jobs around the house that needed attention for some time. We cleaned all the dry leaves around the house and repaired the leaking ceiling and room. We also cleaned the drains at the back of the house. We also had a chance to do some long-postponed shopping. My mother and sisters were very happy as they could enjoy and have their time to shop. They bought the Satinni collections and others. And, each of us also caught up with e-mail and did paperwork that was long overdue. Many e-mails we had not stared. E-mail from Facebook and Twitter were the most filling.

Finally, and probably the most important is we spent time with each other more than usual. Instead of just being in the same room together, staring at the screen, we actually talked for many pleasant hours. We also did some beneficial indoor activities like chess and completing the Sudoku. The most precious moment was when my sister gave us a surprise. She played the piano for us as she is taking Diploma in Music in Sultan Idris Education University. Moreover, for the first time in many years, my family played some games together, like table- tennis and some other games. And because we did not have to worry to watch TV shows, we had an enjoyable week together.

Once our television set returned, we were not prepared to put in the store room. But we had a sense of how it can take over our lives if we are not careful. We are now more selective. We turn on the set for our favourite shows, certain sport events, and the news, but we do not leave it running all evening. As a result, we find we can enjoy television and still have time left over for other activities and interests.
REFLECTION (WEEK 1)

This is the first week for my Semester 4 session in UPSI. I was so glad that I can learn new things in this semester, and what makes thing awesome is I can learn Writing for Multimedia and Web Purposes. Miss Amreet Kaur, my new lecturer first came to our class and introduce us to this course. This course is the course that can give us lesson to improve our skills in the web world.

Before she began, she asked us on what do we predict and what do we want to get from this course. Students gave a lot of answers, and different of course. Some of us said that they want to be a good web developer, to be professional and others. For me, of course I want to get information and knowledge from this course to help me be a better person and can help another people by using my knowledge on this web studying.

After that, Miss Amreet also briefed us on our assignments and also assessments that we will need to do through the whole semester. And, the happy part was when Miss Amreet told us that we will not have any final examination for this course. I hope I can learn a lot through this subject so I can be a successful person.
